I’m not going to volunteer at the Oscars, but if there is a movie I’d like to see, it would be ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’
It’s been nearly four months since the Oscar nominations were announced and for most of us, the excitement was tempered with sadness.
We watched the nominations reel and thought, What the hell is happening?
And then we started to wonder: What’s going on with The Hunger Games?
For the past four years, the franchise has been hailed as one of the most successful and influential of all time and we’ve heard a lot about the upcoming movies in the past, but this year’s films have been anything but.
There were no Oscar nominations in this year.
We didn’t even have a nomination for Best Picture.
The Hunger games franchise has never won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
We know that this year, with the release of ‘Catching Fire’, the franchise could be back in the running for Best Original Song, but we don’t know what they’re going to do with the other nominees.
We’re not sure what to make of all of this.
I’ve never been one to get overly excited about the Oscars or the movies they award, but it’s still a nice relief to know that we won’t have to wait any longer.
It’s a little bit of a relief that it doesn’t mean that we’ll get a new movie every year.
There’s been talk of a new film called ‘The Emoji Movie’ and we hope that it will be announced in a few months, but that could be all it takes for a bunch of films to be announced before the Oscars.
It’s been a crazy few weeks.
We’ve been inundated with tweets, Facebook posts, emails, and emails of congratulation and encouragement.
It was a tough week, but at the same time, we have to acknowledge that the world is a weird place.
We’re still trying to process the fact that there are no nominees.
But it’s okay, we’ll move on.
